Tough day ahead for Rás riders

first_imgToday the riders face a 155 kilometre flat stage but open roads and possible crosswinds could lead to echelons and splits in the bunch. Yesterdays stage from Tipp Town to Bearna was won by Italian Matteo Malucelli of Team IDEA in a thrilling bunch sprint.Tipperary’s Simon Ryan was 31st on the stage with Nenagh’s Michael Butler coming home 148th.Not a great day for Carrick on Suir’s Sean Hahessy who got caught up in a crash involving around 40 riders which resulted in him leaving a few teeth on the road to Galway and was forced to abandon the race due to his injuries.last_img
